I have always loved preserving memories. I was the one at the reunions and get togethers with friends, happily taking snapshots. When I first met my husband, he was falling out of love with photography and in love with me (the two held no connection). He patiently taught me most of the basics, answered my dozens of questions, and critiqued my pictures for me. I still love preserving memories, now much more definitively. Through the gift of pictures, we remember so much more about who we are … how richly we are loved and blessed. As I watch our boys pore over albums of images, I know they are remembering not only the event, but the security of love and happiness in our family. When I see a new mom viewing the images of her newborn, I know she is not only remembering how cute her baby looked but those intense first emotions of new mom love and pride. When I hear brides excitedly exclaim about how happy they are with the images from their wedding day, I know how much more grateful they will be ten years later to have pictures capturing one of the most special days of their life. Pictures are so much more than just pictures. They tell our story. They talk about happy times and difficult times. They remind us of how blessed we are and how God has carried us through difficult times. Pictures help us to remember.

I use mostly natural light photography which means that most of my portraiture happens between March and November. I do a limited number of weddings and will be happy to discuss event coverage of any kind.
